Welcome to Yum’s of PDX—our internet love letter to pizza, hospitality, and this incredible city.
Born in Brooklyn, I’ve landed in Portland with a full heart and a big dream. You’re sitting in a space inspired by the mountains of both coasts and filled with playful, unexpected touches. Every detail is here to make you feel right at home—if home had mind-blowing pizza and a whole lot of love.
Our space is deeply personal. It’s named in honor of my late mother, Hyla—a radiant force of good in the world, who passed away from COVID in 2020. During the pandemic, inspired by her spirit, she baked and gave away over 5,000 pizzas from my 350’ Brooklyn apartment, to anyone who needed a little help (and a slice of joy).
Her legacy lives in every pie we serve and every warm welcome we offer.
During the pandemic after Chef Miriam stopped baking from her apartment, she went on to take over several NYC restaurants with her pizza, traveling across the country to learn from and work alongside some of the industry’s most talented and respected pizzamakers. Along the way, she was featured several times in the NYT and acclaimed as one of the best pizzas in all of New York City! She also appeared on several TV series, including Netflix, Hulu, and The Food Network’s Chopped. She’s brought all of that experience here to Portland—bringing it to life under one roof.
Yum’s of PDX isn’t just a pizzeria—it’s an experience. Our goal? To make you feel like pizza royalty. We’ve taken everything we love about great hospitality and baked it right into the crust of this place.
As we are only a few months in, we sure feel grateful to be here in Portland, making exceptionally tasty pizza and providing a NYC type of hospitality—one that makes you always feel like pizza Royalty.

What is Neo-Neapolitan Pizza?
A modern love letter to classic Neapolitan pizza. Neo-Neapolitan brings together the soul of old-world baking with a bit more structure, texture, and boldness. Our dough is leavened with a poolish and fermented for 72-96 hours to gain depth of flavor, then baked in a blazing wood-fired oven that kisses every pie with a gentle char. No two pies are ever alike. The result is a crust that’s airy yet crisp, tender in the center with a satisfying chew, and caramelized at the edges.
Expect bright, clean flavors—creamy mozzarella, vibrant tomatoes, and thoughtfully sourced toppings—balanced with the subtle smokiness only real wood fire can create. It’s familiar, elevated, and unforgettable: tradition reimagined for the way we love to eat today.
Chef Miriam had the great fortune to travel around the United States, studying with some of the pizza industry’s greats pizzamakers around. She has brought all of that knowledge under one roof here in Portland, to create pizza that is truly special and unforgettable.
Our menu is a combination of combinations found in Napoli and all of the things Chef Miriam loved while living in NYC.
